COURAGE
We have the courage to be ambitious and try things we have never done before
Our VELUX Values guide us to dare to go faster, think bigger and take ownership of realising the biggest opportunities for VELUX. Our six VELUX values work together and complement each other, serving as an inner compass for all of us, no matter where in the organisation we work. The VELUX values should guide our actions in everyday work and decisions and thereby shape our future in VELUX.
One of the VELUX Values is Courage – guiding us to be ambitious and try things we have never done before. This is necessary to realise our strategic future ambitions. However, courage is not new to VELUX – through history, we have been able to adapt to the times we live in and we have had the courage to make the necessary changes to stay ahead of the game. Courage is part of our heritage and of our future.
Courage can take many forms. In this issue of VIEW, we explore what courage means to different colleagues and how it is already engrained in many of the things we do in VELUX.
You can learn more about our new values by visiting the Values site on VELUX One.
Why ‘Courage’?
We need courage to succeed in a continuously changing environment and positively impact the future. Whether we set trends or take inspiration from the outside world, we dare to set ambitious targets. In VELUX, we are open to trying things we have never done before because we know stagnation is worse than failure. We encourage and support one another to experiment, develop, learn and grow. We seize opportunities and act on them and in success and failure, we keep an open mindset and act with courage to move forward. What it means:
- We dare to set ambitious goals.
- We challenge the status quo with new ideas.
- We make decisions and act on them, even when faced with uncertainty.
- We help each other step outside of our comfort zone.
