I am a big organiser, so being part of planning and managing logistics has always come naturally to me and is something I like to do.
I joined VELUX in 2018 and since then I have managed the logistics department in Namyslow. We are a team of 78 people who are responsible for the material flow and storage of purchased parts as well as the shipment of our finished products. I have spent most of my working life in logistics. I am a big organiser, so being part of planning and managing logistics has always come naturally to me and is something I like to do. Right now, the material shortages due to COVID-19 pose quite a challenge for us, as it is difficult to create a continuous production plan. But we do what we can to make sure that orders are produced and shipped without major delays and to avoid stopping the production lines. I am really proud of my team and our teamwork throughout the factory – we all work hard to overcome these challenges and strive to do it in the right way. Before joining VELUX, I worked for different companies, primarily from the automotive industry. Already during my studies, I started as a trainee in logistics, and took on different roles in the following years. My first job as a manager was in a continuous improvement department, working as a lean manager. However, I wanted to return to my profession of working with logistics, which is why I joined VELUX as a logistics manager a little more than three years ago.
During wintertime, I love skiing with people who are important to me
In my free time, it is really important for me to be active and healthy. Therefore, I usually go running 1-2 times a week, and each Tuesday I go to a fitness dance class which I have been attending for a long time now. It gives me energy for the whole week, which has been particularly important to me during these past months where the material shortages have challenged our logistics planning. During wintertime, I love skiing with people who are important to me. Other than that, I love challenges, meeting new people, traveling, and trying cuisines from various parts of the world.
