Career Development

There are many ways to grow and develop as an employee in the VELUX group, whether it be by training, taking on new tasks or by taking on a new role. As we launch into the season for Annual Dialogues, we have taken a quick peek at some of the global opportunities offered in VELUX and talked to colleagues, who have developed new skills and grown into new positions by taking career development into their own hands.

In VELUX, we believe that growing our people will ultimately grow our business. People Development ranges from agreeing on learning activities in the Annual Dialogue and following up through the Performance and Development process during the year, to the development on the job or through specific training. It is a shared responsibility between manager and employee to drive development and to ensure that the planned learning activities are meeting the business requirements and are aligned with individual employee aspirations. “We want to make sure that VELUX offers exciting and relevant opportunities for personal growth and development in an international environment, and we have a range of opportunities for employees to develop, either by training or by taking on new tasks. But we also encourage employees to be proactive, to find out what motivates them and look for new ways to grow,” says Iben Schmidt Helbirk, SVP for People & Organisation.
