We help bring daylight and fresh air to younger generations in a new and improved learning environment.
The Merkinch Primary School and Family Centre in Inverness, Scotland has transformed into a bright and spacious learning environment with the help of the VELUX Commercial team. The project was done in collaboration with local companies Robertson Construction and Norr Consultancy, and has won three awards for Innovation in Delivering Value, Innovation in Delivering a Sustainable Learning Space, and the “Wood for Good” award for its’ design and use of wood in their work. Project manager Finley Black of Robertson Construction joined us for the VELUX Daylight Symposium in Paris back in 2019 and was inspired by the message of bringing daylight and ventilation into common spaces. He brought the idea to the client, Highlands council in Northern Scotland, and the finished project is a spacious and comfortable learning and working environment, providing natural light to benefit both the students and employees.
