During one of the quarantine periods, VELUX employee Sofie was working from home while her seven-year-old daughter Elva was in home school. In need of a creative outlet in between her school work, Elva started building a playhouse and made sure to include daylight and fresh air for a bright and healthy home environment.
With a mother who works in VELUX Commercial, Elva is familiar with the concept and the benefits of a roof window and decided to use it while designing her playhouse. “It was a fun surprise when she came up with something that looks like a Commercial prototype. I have brought her to work a couple of times, but windows alone don’t really do a lot for her, but she certainly enjoys the creative process of designing playhouses,” says Sofie.
We go to the Louisiana museum quite often where we build different architectures with matches, sticks and paper, like the one in the picture
As it turns out, this house is just one of the many architectural creations, Elva has made. She usually comes up with her own designs, with Sofie helping throughout the building process with more practical things such as gathering the materials and using glue guns.
“We go to the Louisiana museum quite often where we build different architectures with matches, sticks and paper, like the one in the picture,” says Sofie. Although young, Elva and her unique designs are sure to inspire many.
